Tinie Tempah – Pass Out

I walked into the studio to prepare for ‘The Sparkle Report’ with my homegirl, Tahirah. ’Pass Out’ was playing. I instantly fell inlove. Dismissed ‘love at first sight’ & quickly addressed ‘love at first…listen’ <–can I write that? *thinks* *shrugs*. I went a lil’ crazy.
“Who sings thisssssss?” Yeh, I almost ‘passed out’ – lol. The tune is HARD! It’s not the type you birth a dance move to, you kinda develop this ‘mean mugging – T.I. type sway’ movement. You just gotta move with it. Just have a listen. It’s vastly becoming one of the ‘most played’ tunes on my ipod. Tinie Tempah is the package – keep it coming muh dude.
March 1st 2010 is the release date for the single – go get that!!

The Longest Post….so far.
It’s been a few weeks, right? I’ve concluded that blogging is very time consuming & if you’re on my twitter, you would have probably scrolled pass my mini rant. I dunno sometimes. I mean, this is just somewhere I click over to & update you guys with anything I may feel is slightly interesting. It’s not 100% entertainment or 100% personal – it’s just a space – I dunno.
Sometimes to be the first to post exclusive material, news, photos etc you marry your computer or whatever form of technology you use to output this info. You stay up until the early a.m hours (to catch it as soon as it drops from it’s primary source). Be almost everywhere. Quite frankly, this is not me. I mean, if I get it, I’ll share it but to revolve the internet around my life – nah I’m good. Plus I would be breaking one of my ‘new year’s resolution’ – “spending more time with my friends”. Can’t encourage that now. I’ll get roughed up a bit…lol.
Ok, so that’s out the way. Awwm, I have a few things I would like to share (may be of interest or not *shrugs*).
Remember a while back, I went for my morning jog (the one I documented in the form of text & photography), came back & accidentally dunked my Blackberry in hot chocolate. Said I would take it to the shops & yadda yadda blah..
Well, I didn’t go to the shop as it seemed fine – just crackled when taking pics & when I made or received calls. I had much bigger fish to fry..pssh! About a week ago (Thursday 28th Jan 2010) I received a voice mail from my hairdresser (OH MATE!! She is like SUPER-AWESOME), I tried to play it back but heard silence. Sent out the necessary BM messages… ‘please call me – my phone’s effed’ – I still couldn’t hear anything but everyone could hear me. My music wasn’t playing. My track ball was freezing. Yeh, it was time to send it off.
It’s now been over a week with no Blackberry. It’s been peaceful but has slowed and anchored me down. I have lost that instant access to my emails & contacts. I feel like I’ve taken a humongous step backwards…ugh!
Blackberry really need to address this issue – not me dunking my berry in liquid but more so the technical glitches. The majority of my friends, who posses a Blackberry, have experienced some sort of inconvenience with their Blackberries. If it’s not the track-ball, it’s the applications. If it’s not the messenger, it’s the speakers. C’mon son….fix that!! I’m now contemplating upgrading my ish to an iPhone. I should send a threat to the Blackberry HQ…right? lOl
If you have my number, call/text only (including your name) as I have NO CONTACTS!!
Without my berry I have nothing to photographically document any art related experiences, any fun times out etc. My Nikon SLR lens also broke so, yeh… :o/ <– making that face, right now. I feel a little lost at times – jheee.
New Year Resolutions update – Been hanging with the homies a lil’ more (feels great) as I’m known to be very reclusive at times. I’m a crab, we do this… *shrugs*
I’ve been drinking my water!! I’m not sure if I’m sticking to the daily recommendation but I’m doing it..aiite :) I’ve develop this love for Ginger Beer. I rarely drink fizzy drinks/sodas but boyyyy…this has me good.
Krispy Kremes – I have decreased my spendings. I now walk past the Krispy Kreme stand, subconsciously thinking ‘oooh, Glazed Creme Filled’ – lol. I mean, I still bought from the stall but not as often. On the other hand, I haven’t consumed a Krispy Kreme in five days….FIVE DAYS!! Why? The stall is still there but I no longer go there. I was told that they no longer make ‘Glazed Creme Filled’ Krispy Kremes. My heart broke – it really did.
Coffee consumption – yeah I still drink this. I gotta be up & it does the job – no back chat!! lOl
Punctuality – well, we’re still adjusting. *hangs head in shame*
I also saw ‘The Book of Eli’ & ‘Precious’ – two very large films of 2010…so far. I’ve reviewed these on radio already but I will do it again for you…yes you. (I shall do so in a separate post, hang in there)
With all that written, I will update when I can. Deal?

Can Anyone Help?
I’m experiencing some problems with posting videos or links from other sites, other than youtube. It’s annoying as I see or receive exclusives for you guys but have to wait until it’s uploaded to youtube – sometimes take up to a week or so…a bit lame.
If there’s anyone of you out there who have mastered ‘wordpress’ and can assist moi with this lil’ issue…drop ya girl a comment – THANK YOU!!
ps – a bit….actually that’s an understatement. I’m very sick at the moment so hang in there for new posts…aiite.

2010 Resolutions?

I decided to not believe in new year’s resolutions as of last year. I feel that change should apply as soon as it becomes a thought.
Why wait until the new year to acquire a gym membership & loose weight – the time spent thinking to do so could have been the start of shedding those dreaded lbs. (think about it)
Anywhoo, here are a few things I’ll be adjusting in my life…
Over the past year or so, I have developed this uncontrollable craving for coffee. I have drank coffee in the past, but as of late became very dependant on a mug filled with a nice strong hot mixture of 4sugars, 2 teaspoon of coffee and sometimes some cocoa. I found myself drinking at least 2 cups in the space of 4 hours o_O.
I also found my skin changing; it became dry and required excess cream.
I neglected my good friend ‘water’ – I was probably consuming two glasses per day – far below the daily recommended of 6-8 glasses (1.2litres).
So, I shall recede back to my original consumption of: water, fruit juices, green tea, fruits and the odd cuppa coffee (when needed).
I spent about £30 ($60) on Krispy Kreme every month and shall over – look my financial agreement with them. o_O
I have also decided to be more punctual; I don’t like waiting around, so often arrive bang ontime or late. I implemented a ‘15 minute rule’ (adding an extra 15 minutes onto my journey time for: traffic issues, delays, filling out surveys in the street, forgetting keys etc..) a few years back but this obviously vanished a while ago.
I also used to travel a lot; mainly to see my family. This needs to be re-introduced as I become very irritated if in one environment for far too long.
I shall invest time & effort into my art. I have neglected this self – taught talent for years! I previously spent hours drawing and scribbling…any & everything. I stopped, abandoned my equipment and found new ways to pointlessly waste time.
Also, I shall spend more quality time with my buddies. I really like my space and my own company but this is not at all nice and very unsocialable.
Anywhoo, I’m bout to roll out with dOugz to a house party…I’m pretty much liquored up already but hey!!

Paul Leli – ARTist
Award -winning artist from Toronto, Canada, Paul Leli. Paul graduated from Sheridan College in 07 with a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration. Using this, he then began painting iconic portraits. My favourites has to be these two. Lil’ Wayne commissioned the painter to paint a portrait of his 4th Grammy achievement…..
